Chicago

I am so excited to be in Chicago. Last year was the first time I came for the One of a Kind Show where I was in the Etsy Pavilion. With the long show hours I didn’t get a chance to see much so this year I arrived early enough to have one full day to spend as a tourist. Did I ever have fun.

For anyone who lives here, lucky you and for anyone who hasn’t yet been I would recommend a trip. At this time of year it looks so festive and in the classiest way. Walking around downtown there are endless surprises with the beautiful old buildings juxtaposed sleek new ones plus all of the famous architecture to marvel at.

Here are some photos from the great places I visited today–including an outdoor ice rink in Millennium Park where I skated laps with Cloud Gate looming above.

This mosaic ceiling is located in the Macy’s building on the Magnificent Mile up on one of the 7 floors! While I was looking around Macy’s someone approached me and said they saw me skating earlier. While I used to play ringette and love skating I’d never done it with a purse and long winter coat before but that made it so much more memorable.

Now it’s back to business – Set up for the show starts tomorrow.

The One of a Kind Show starts this Thursday and runs until Sunday at the Merchandise Mart.
