Today I wanted to share the work of another talented friend, this is the work of Simone Richmond. We met in Vancouver at Circle Craft Christmas Market this past November and saw each other recently in Toronto at the One of a Kind Spring Show. Not only is she a very sweet person, her work is very lovely too.
Her jewellery is inspired by shapes and patterns found in lace and textiles. Simone draws from the details she finds and infuses them into her designs. Each piece is truly a labour of love, beginning with a hand drawn pattern, or carefully manipulated texture. Her work exhibits a subtle elegance through her use of simple shapes, soft colours and delicate details.
I have a pair of her etched sterling silver marquis studs and wear them almost everyday. They are so comfortable to wear, go with every outfit and always look nice. Her enamelled pieces are lovely too and really show the detail in the lace patterns.
